MnUSA Elects Officers at Annual Meeting

At its annual meeting during the 2017 MnUSA Fall Workshop, the General Membership of Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association (MnUSA) elected officers for the upcoming year. Terms run from November 1 - October 31.

Rod Seibel, Bemidji

Club: North Country Snowmobile Club

Relevant Experience: More than 50 years as a snowmobiler and have experienced almost any issue that can affect snowmobiling. Leadership roles in Snowmobile North Dakota, including president. MnUSA Roles: Director, secretary and vice president. Experience working with legislature, in trail development and landowner relations. I can work with almost anyone to achieve a mutual agreement to any issue.

Three Things I want to Accomplish:

1. To carry on many of the good things past officers and directors have begun.

2. To increase membership with emphasis on getting our younger generation involved.

3. To work for adequate funding for our trails. We have an awesome statewide trail system. Let's work to make it even better for future generations.

Why I want to serve in this position

I have a wealth of snowmobile knowledge that I want to share and put to good use for all. If we can unite MnUSA members and non-members, we can take snowmobiling into the future.

Vice President

Greg Sorenson, Finlayson

Relevant Experience: Numerous leadership positions in MnUSA, including president and director. Served on almost all committees, chaired several. Done extensive work with legislators. Snowmobile safety instructor. Served on the Governor's Task Force on Safety. Worked many booths, shows and open houses. Helped start the Black Woods Blizzard Tour.

Three Thinks I want to Accomplish:

1. Increase membership by coming up with new ideas and programs, including the promotion of the Rider Assist Directory.

2. Increase sled registrations, including a possible awareness campaign to convince riders of the importance of registering their sleds.

3. Work on decreasing or stopping trespass, especially on private lands. We can't afford to lose any trails due to trespass.

Why I want to serve in this position

I want to use my vast experience and good working relationships to keep MnUSA moving ahead. We need to constantly work together to come up with new ideas and programs. Together we can accomplish our goals and keep MnUSA moving in a good direction.

Two Things I Want to Accomplish

1. Ensure that minutes of all General Membership and Board of Directors meetings are prepared and distributed in a timely fashion.

2. Lend the experience I have gained over the last several years with MnUSA to decisions made by the executive board.

Why I want to serve in this position

I believe my contributions to MnUSA over the last few years, primarily as chair of the Bylaws Committee, have been beneficial to the organization. I would like to continue for a while, and besides, it's been fun.
