Murray County has a vast network of groomed trails. Snowmobilers can ride in all directions and log a number of miles on the trails for their day's efforts. They can traverse into the neighboring counties.
Established in 1985 by the efforts of the Slayton Driftbreakers Snowmobile Club, the trails span over 100 miles and were made possible by a grants-in-aid funding program.
A variety of trails are available to snowmobile riders in Murray County. Developed first, the Iona Loop is a 23-mile stretch that allows riders to experience a jaunt across hilly farmland, skirt a wildlife area, slip through the town of Iona, and loop back to their starting point.
The Behr Path Trail is a nine mile trek that leads from the Iona Loop Trail to the City of Fulda. Once in Fulda, riders can continue southward to the Nobles County trail system.
For those who enjoy more of a rustic ride, the Beaver Creek Trail spans approximately 25 miles and winds its riders in and out of trees as it follows Beaver Creek to Lake Shetek State Park.
At the park, riders can take a branch off of the Beaver Creek trail that will lead them onto the Inlet Waters Trail next to Lake Shetek, then on to the adjacent Lyon County Trail System.
The newest trail in Murray County is Casey Jones and it runs, in part, on the railroad bed of the former Casey Jones Railroad Line. Riders will enjoy flat, straight riding as well as bouts through fields and past farm houses. Upon leaving Woodstock the trail joins Pipestone County's network of trails.

Description: Snowmobile Safety Online - Field Day will take place on 12/09/17 at the Slayton Drift Breakers Groomer Shed, 1942 Engerbretson Ave., Slayton, MN. The online portion of the class can be done at snowmobilecourse.com or snowmobile-ed.com. Review and driving test will go from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm on 12/09/17. Participants must be 11 years of age before class start date listed above in order to be eligible to take this class.
Due to COVID classes will be broken into 3 blocks With 8 Students Per block.
~ Block A 9-10:30 AM
~ Block B 11-12:30PM
~ Block C 1-2:30PM if needed
